iPad Pre-Orders Now Live in the Canadian Online Apple Store; Rogers Data Plans Revealed
Finally, the time has come for all you folks who have waited for the iPad to come to Canada. You can now put your orders in, and have your iPad delivered on May 28th. Well, what are you waiting for? Go get your iPad!
Looks like Canadian pricing is about $50 over the US pricing. Unlike the US, all 6 models are available for pre-order. One big difference is, there is no option to make a reservation, like the initial launch. If you want to get one in-store, on May 28th, you’ll have to just go line up and hope for the best. No word if 3rd party retailers, like Best Buy, will have the iPad on launch day.
We also get our first look at the official Rogers data plans for the iPad. The most interesting plan, is add the iPad to your existing data plan for an additional $20! This is a huge deal, to be able to share data, between separate devices. This is something no other carrier has done in Canada before. There is also a 250MB plan for $15 per month, and a whopping 5GB plan for $35 per month. At the time of this post, there was still no mention of these plans on the Rogers website.
So, there we have it! I gotta say, the ability to add the iPad to an existing data plan is pretty enticing. I was thinking of buying a second iPad for the family, and this may have cinched it!

See you in line, on May 28th! Until then, you can follow me on Twitter: @rorypiper
