[UPDATED] Apple Adding ‘Explicit’ Category To The App Store?
Apple recently removed over 5000 “overtly sexual” applications from the App Store and possibly adding them back, with their own ‘Explicit’ category. The category is not yet in the App Store, but is included in drop-down menus which developers select categories for their applications.
A developer writes to us and says this might all be academic soon: “Looks like Apple are adding a category called Explicit to the App Store,” he says, providing the following grab:
The developer adds: “It’s available for selection when adding a new app to iTunesConnect although I can’t see any sign of it in the actual App Store yet.”
[Update] Gizmodo reports the ‘Explicit’ app category has now been removed.
