Fake iPhone Pics Popping up Around the Net

Earlier, we showed you a great mock up of what an iPhone 4G might look like. The artist even included video! That version of the iPhone looked great, but the artist was very up front in saying that is was just his vision of what the iPhone could look like.

Now we have these pics, courtesy of MacRumors. These are claimed to be pics of the actual back casing of the next iPhone. It is an aluminum, uni body casing, which slightly resembles the iPad. The pics are kind of blurred and grainy, as if they were taken with a phone camera. Take a look. Real or fake?

MacRumors scanned the metadata for these photos and determined that they, indeed, have been through Photoshop CS4. Although they could have been just re-sized, they were most likely rendered in Photoshop.

It would appear that this casing has all the right cut outs, but with the rumors of the next iPhone having a flash for the camera, I don’t know where that would fit. Also, why are these pics taken on the floor? Maybe it’s a wood table.

All I’m saying is, don’t be so quick to assume these are real. I’m sure we’ll see a lot more fakes and mock ups, before we get a look at the real thing, this summer.
