Foxconn Reveals new iPhone Specs
Okay, so we’ve heard a lot of rumours already, but this time it might be a little more substantiated. Foxconn, known manufacturer of the iPhone, has reported the the display will definitely have double the resolution, and will have better wide angle viewing. Also, it will get an Apple A8 processor and 512MB of RAM.
Digitimes reported on this yesterday. Here’s what they had to say:
“The new device will adopt IPS (in-plane switching) panels with FFS (fringe-field switching) technology and a 960×640 resolution, Kuo said, noting that LG Display and Prime View International are the panel suppliers.
By incorporating FFS technology, which enables a wider viewing angle and clearer visual quality under in sunlight, Apple is aiming to improve the handset’s e-book reader features and promote its iBooks Store. HTC’s Hero smartphone has already adopted this technology.”
“The iPhone 4G will run on the Arm Cortex A8 processor and a 512MB memory module from Samsung Electronics, doubling the memory capacity seen in the iPhone 3GS to take advantage of the multi-tasking capability of the iPhone 4.0 platform, Kuo revealed.
To solve battery life issues, the new iPhone’s panel is 33% thinner than in previous iPhone versions to permit more space for larger battery modules supplied by Simplo Technology and Dynapack International Technology, Kuo said.”

Both my wife and I are so hyped up for this device. We both have the iPhone 3GS right now, and we’ll be upgrading as soon as this new iPhone comes to Canada. After all, in order to take advantage of the the video calling, you’ll have to know someone else with this new iPhone, right? Goodbye, money!
