Game Review: Jelly Chronicles

One of my favourite things about the iPhone, is the vast array of games available. There are games for young and old in the App Store, and when you can find a game that young an old can play together, it really bridges the generation gap, and brings family together.

Developer Infinite Dreams has released a new game called Jelly Chronicles. This is kind of 3 apps in one, as it starts with a “find the difference”, type, progressing to a puzzle, game and then to a book with the story of the Jelly Chronicles.  All great artwork, engaging people of all ages.

Here’s the official description from the App Store:

Once upon a time, in a galaxy not that far far away… oh, wait a second! In this game you will have to reveal the story on your own!

Jelly Chronicles is a magic adventure into the Jelly World for both young and old. Test your power of observation in classic “spot the difference” game and challenge your skills in jigssaw puzzles full of beautiful and unique pictures. Jelly Chronicles lets you dream with your eyes wide open while you make your way through the epic Jelly story! It is a fairy tale you can’t do without! Reveal the true story behind Jelly Invaders, Jelly Defence and more…

I enjoyed playing this game. Even though the games seem simple, they were still challenging enough to keep me guessing. You start off in easy mode, and as you progress, higher difficulties are unlocked. I haven’t gotten through the entire game yet, but I know my daughter and I will a blast playing it.

I think this game has great value, but the $3.99 price tag might a bit steep for some. Today only (April 16, 2010), you can get Jelly Chronicles for 50% off, at $1.99. If you have kids to share this with, I definitely recommend this game.
