How To: Create A US iTunes App Store Account In Canada. (No Credit Card Needed)

Received free promo codes, tried to redeem them in iTunes and find they only work in the US App Store? Here’s a how to create a US iTunes App Store Account in Canada, no credit card needed. (This is only to download free apps and redeem promo codes)

1. Open itunes, sign out if logged in. Click iTunes Store on the side, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the country flag icon.

2. Select United States flag icon.

3. Search Store for a FREE application. Once you decided on an app, click FREE APP to download.

4. A window should pop up asking you to sign in or create account. Create a new account.

5. Continue with the next steps and read Apple’s agreement.

6. Enter your information (Email, password, etc.)

7. You’ll notice you can select NONE for payment. Select and continue filling out the information.

8. You should see a screen saying Verify Your Account. Click done and check your email for a verification email, which iTunes Store sent.

9. Open your email, click the link to activate account and a new window prompts you to sign in iTunes.

10. You’ll see a congratulations screen, click done.

Note: You’re not able to download updates on apps you installed previously on other accounts, while logged into the US account. You need to switch between accounts and update.
