iOS 4 Officially Released!
Okay! GO! GO! GO! GO! iOS 4 is officially available for download, via iTunes update! iOS 4 is available for iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 2nd gen, and iPod Touch 3rd gen. iOS 4 is not available for the original iPhone and iPod Touch.
Simply plug in your device, and you will be prompted to update. Make sure you do a back up before updating, just in case something gets messed up. If you have installed iOS 4 GM, you will not be prompted for an update. As suspected, the GM candidate was the final build (8A293). (Thanks to iClarified for the screenshots)
A warning though: If you jailbreak your device, and/or need it unlocked, avoid this update for now. The iPhone Dev Team have new jailbreak and unlock tools ready to go, just wait for them to be released before clicking that tempting update button! iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 3rd gen owners: Make sure to back up your SHSH blobs to Saurik’s server before updating, or you may lose your jailbreak forever.
We have word from wizdaz, of the iPhone Dev Team, that Pwnage Tool is being updated for iOS 4, as we speak! It will support iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, and iPod Touch 2nd Gen.
