iPhone 4 Hits Canada Today!!! Who’s Getting in Line?!

So, iPhone 4 is coming to Canada this Friday, July 30th! After all the leaked pictures, lost-in-a-bar stories, and everything else, it will finally be in our hands. We want know: who’s excited?! Will you be getting an iPhone 4 this Friday? rorypiper

Although we don’t really have any confirmed pricing from Apple or the “Big 4″ carriers, here in Canada, we can assume the prices will be close to the US prices, within $50 or so. To get an unlocked iPhone 4, from the Apple Store, you’re looking at about $599 for the 16GB and $699 for the 32GB. Some sites have been reporting there’s an additional $80 on top of that, but there is no official word from Apple on that. To get a locked iPhone 4 on your carrier of choice, you’re looking at $199 and $299 for the 16GB and 32GB, respectively. Again, none of the carriers have officially announced this. We’re just guessing.

So, where can you get the iPhone 4? Well, the Apple Store, and the Apple Online Store, for sure. All 4 carriers in Canada have officially announced that they will have iPhone 4 on launch day. That’s Rogers, Fido, Telus, and Bell. As for 3rd party retailers, there have been no announcements. When the iPad was released, Canada saw it at Best Buy and Future Shop. Both of these stores carry the current iPhone, so they will most likely have the iPhone 4 at some point, but not sure about launch day.

Something else to consider is, Canada is the closest country for US citizens to pick up an officially unlocked iPhone 4. This means Apple Retail Stores in Canada could be a lot more busy, than you think! You might want to line up extra early!

    We are planning on getting iPhone4 from th Apple Store in Oakridge Mall in Vancouver. However, we are unsure when to start lining up. Called the store a couple days ago, and at that time they refused to confirm or deny that July 30 was the release date! Guess it will be a watch and wait game.

    they won't accept online order anywhere, I just asked them, we should line up how early? that's my question. Does anybody know (based on the past experiences) when we must be there for line-up. Midnight? early morning? I am going to buy from Rogers downtown, Toronto.

    if ur from TO then its gonna b busy 4 sure & u better line up early….as for me…am form waterloo…& am gonna go bike to kitchener & wait in line around 5am ay bestbuy…because still havent decided on the carrier..any suggestions??

    Lucky man! Lethbridge get's F'ed over with limited stock for Rogers. Only a couple 32GB models and a few 16GB, the rest are for Telus or Bell. FAIL! :(

    So i got my Iphone 4 Today from Pacific Center 6:30AM to 4PM at first it was really awesome, the Apple staff were bringing out carts of Water, Cupcakes, Breakfast bars.
    But as the hours went on i started to get exhausted, Feeling sick near the end. but i did get it when it was all said and done. One thing i really liked was the group of people i happen to be waiting with, the amount of enthusiasm, and encouragement they gave me, even though my head was pounding feeling tired, they wouldnt let me quit, some 3rd Party company was giving out Free screen protectors too, but im unsure of the quality.
    It was a once in a lifetime Experience, and i mean just that. I dont think i will be doing that again lol it was worth it, but to much waiting for my own good.

    Bad side was when the Rogers Activation servers kept going down >.< we all knew it was coming, but didnt know when, we got about half way through the line, then they went down after 2 hours. took 6 hours to get the rest of the way.

    FYI: I did get the promo price of 159 on my 16G without a hitch.

    Unlocked or not? “If your iPhone 4 is unlocked via jailbreaking, every time Apple releases a new iOS update you’re stuck in limbo. You can’t update via iTunes or you’ll lose your unlock.”But jailbreaking iphone 4 is legal in USA. Maybe, iphone 4 should provide something richer for developers to create for, like ifunia, who declared they are dedicated in creating affordable and easy multimedia software to simplify your Mac life, but not kill them with “iTunes”. Then I'll purchase an unlocked with no hesitation to line.

    I called the Apple store Pacific Center (were i will be going tomorrow morning) I tried to get the girl to tell me how much stock they had, she said due to policy she cant lol so instead i asked her if they expect to sell out within the first couple hours, She replied “No.
