Product Review: Pear for iPhone Wood Cover
We’ve seen many incarnations of iPhone protection including cases, covers, skins, pouches, wallets, and many more. We’ve seen then made of plastic, silicon, metal, rubber; you name it. I thought I had tried them all, but I was wrong…
Today we are taking a look at the Pear for iPhone Wood cover. Wood cases are nothing new to iPhone, but this was the first time I had used one. I will admit that, when I first heard about this, I was skeptical. Maybe I had visions of my iPhone embedded into a big 2 X 4! Of course, this is not the case. It is actually a smooth, thin cover, that clips to the back or your iPhone. It is very well crafted and fits tightly, but is still easy to install and removed.

I am really enjoying this case, much to my surprise. The cover does add a bit of bulk to the iPhone, but not nearly as much as I thought it “wood” (hehe). It feels comfortable in your hand, and provides a little extra grip.
One thing I foresee happening, over time, is that the wood may start to split, if your taking the cover off and on. You have to bend the wood a little, when removing the cover, and if it starts to dry out, you will get some cracks. In fact, there are instructions that come with it, telling you to keep the cover in the sealed bag it comes in, when you’re not using it.
This may not be for everyone, but if you have the chance to try it out, you may be surprised. The cover comes on Beech (shown above) and Rosewood (shown below). You can purchase them from the manufacturers website here.
