iPod Nano: Welcome to the Multitouch Family

Apple has unveiled it’s new iPod Nano, with new touchscreen and multitouch capabilities. Click wheel is gone. It turns out the rumours about that tiny touch screen were true. It was for the new iPod Nano.

Contrary to other rumours, the iPod Nano will not be running a version of iOS. It has it’s own user interface that has some limited multitouch elements. There are no apps or games for the Nano.

Also, in a bold move, Apple has removed the camera and video playback from this new iPod Nano. Personally, I did not think this would happen, but it would seem that they want to keep these features for the iPod Touch.

You can order the new iPod Nano now, from the Apple online store, and they ship in one week. The 8GB is $149 and the 16GB is $179.

I doesn’t run iOS. No apps or anything. Not sure what it’s capable of.

dude. i just found this: Post made by saurik in twitter.
“Woah! Steve Jobs just said “with my other iOS devices” in regards to this iPod Nano (which certainly /seems/ to be running iOS): Cydia Nano?”

I read that. Maybe there is something jailbreakers can do to get apps on it. Not sure what the point would be, though. It such a small screen. :/

Maybe. But even though it’s a small screen maybe you can at least have tweaks on it? ^_^
