App Review and Giveaway’s: Gosar Episode One

Gosar Episode 1 is brought to you by the dev’s at Yegor Trukhin. These guys have made an amazing iPad app that allows the full functionality of what the iPad has to offer. Your main controls are on the screen ( fire buttons ) but also with the good ol tilt/rotate action ( direction ) that the accelerometer has to offer. The graphics are very detailed and they give you a bit of a “eagle eye” view if what you need to see as you are playing.

Although the concept of the game is pretty basic, there are A LOT of points that you need to get to have more and more levels unlocked. Give it some time and you can plow through each level to test out how well you are up to a challenge with the little gamer inside you.

This game reminds me of a little feel of micro machines combined with the fun of the accelerometer based in the iPad and great graphics that are featured as well.

App Review & Giveaway: CubeGame 2.0

At first I was very intrigued by this game. I thought this was going to be a “tetris/dont let the blocks fall type”, but as I further discovered, yup…I was wrong. I’ll be honest here, I felt kinda weird playing this game cause it’s not like a game at all. It’s a combination of a “magic 8 ball”/”choose your own adventure” /”fortune telling”. Let me explain.

The UI is really great and the concept is very interesting, but the concept of it brings you to a place in the “game” that tells you who you are/what your are like and what your future is going to fore-tell. For me, I am not a fan of this, but for others, they might like it. Obviously to many, this is just an app that you can fool around with…sort of like a “horoscope” you read in a news paper( another thing this app reminds me of ) The app asks you to close your eyes and think of landscape, an image, and where that image is. Then at the end, it tells you what the image/where the image, means or equals to your life. You can also get a few people to join you on this app “journey” and see what their answers are.

Again I have to say that this app is still kinda weird. Every choice has an answer that describes who you are and what your life is going to become if you choose to continue such a path, so it’s kinda rigged. But again, if you like that sorta thing, then you can grab this app in the App Store for $0.99.

Again I have to say that this apps UI is great and very user friendly and if you like the “choose your own adventure” type apps, then SWEET! I am not to sure how many other apps in the app store are like this one!

Have you ever seen the commercial on Animal planet ( or Discovery Channel? )…..wait…yup Discovery Channel…that talks about the world being just awesome? Well if you haven’t, here it is to just give you a primer of this next iPad App.

I love that commercial because in all honesty, the created earth is just awesome! And so is Geo Walk for the iPad! The dev’s at Vito Technology Inc. bring you education in an amazing UI time and time again. Take a walk through the planet and check out how cool the earth and cultures really are. Better yet, take it in a 3D experience! With the good ol flick of a finger, you can tour the globe and check out all the info bubbles that pop up that tell you a lot of info that you need/want to know!

Again, I wish I had this tech when I was in school! I think my grades would have been so much better’er ( get it?…ah ha ah..:-P )

App Review And Giveaway!: Solar Walk for iPhone/iPad

Being able to search the stars, and planets, and be shown what the rotation of the solar system is going going to be like in 3019 couldn’t be any easier on the iPhone/iPad. Did I mention that you could do all of these things in 3D if you just put on some 3D sunglasses? ( I love that feature! )

There are many other educational type apps out there that teach you about our solar system and the planets that surround it, but none do a better job like the developers at Vito Technology Inc. These guys have the concept of teaching and educating the world down! I really wish I could have had this tech when I was in school cause I think I would have done a lot better in school ;-P Solar walk provides some space like music in the background that can be turned on and off to your liking, as well as give you the facts on each planet including the sun or each and every moon. Solar walk is a guaranteed purchase for those parents to get this app for their kids, or just for the space geek that you are! Because who wouldn’t want the feeling of flying to each planet with the touch of a finger?

The App goes for $2.99 and it is well worth it!

I can honestly say that the work that the dev’s from Vito Tech don’t have any mistakes or things I would change from reviewing their apps! A must buy and have in my books!

App Review and Giveaway!: Tapic

If you’ve ever played Tap Tap Revenge but always thought “I wish I could do this with my own iPod library” then Tapic is the game for you. Tapic generates a string of “tap notes” based on the songs that you pick from your iTunes library and allows you to pick a difficulty, an orientation for the screen and a theme before play. The addition of these options really fleshes out the gameplay and replay value.

The game plays pretty standard after that. Much like Guitar Hero, you simply tap one (or 2) of the streams in time to the music. One nice touch is after you hit the 4x modifier, the screen goes in to sort of negative colour scheme to let you know visually without the need to look at the words. While usually quite obvious how the notes are calculated, I did have a few times where I said to myself “Why are these here?”. Also there is a slight issue with the album art and song selection screen. As it saves previously generated tap tracks for quick access, the album art shown is often too large and covers up the name of the song.

The Rundown:

+ Great game play and replayability

+ Cool themes

+ All around good execution

- Some notes seem to be out of place

- Some issues with the album art on the Song Selection screen

When I was a kid, I always loved going to my local planetarium because it was just cool! Getting a day where I don’t have to be in school and go on a field trip was just awesome! Every time I went, the experience just blew me away. There was a robot projector that came out of the ground and talked to us ( there as a guy using a mic in the back that I didn’t know at the time ) and told us all about our solar system on the largest screen I have ever experienced. We got to sit back and relax in our tilted chairs as we watched the simulated star filled sky. Those day’s were awesome.

Do you remember those days? What if you could re live those days. What if you could take that experience and have it in your hands and use it on your iPad? Would you be as excited as I was when I heard of this opportunity?

The developers at Vito Technology Inc. bring you an experience that you do not want to miss with Star Walk for the iPad. At first I didn’t really know what to expect. I mean, I knew what experience I had in the planetarium, but come on, there was no way someone could simulate that and put it in my hands! Right? Wrong! Star Walk brings the planetarium experience that you love and put’s it into your hands so you have control of what you want to see. If you want to check out a solar system and know how to find it, just use your fingers and you are there! If you want to know the exact coordinates of your favorite planet, find out what time the sun rises and sets where you live, or even just check out what Orion is doing on his belt, Star Walk can make it happen! So as cool as having a man controlled robot is, being able to control the stars and galaxies that you want to see becomes a surreal experience.

I know that I have been using the word experience a lot in this review, but in all honesty, I really do not want you to miss out on what this app actually is. It is an experience! It not only shows you the gem that the iPad is, but how far the creative minds go at Vito Technology Inc.

I give this app a 10/10 rating in my books because I love seeing the different parts of the created earth and galaxies. But I’m no astro boy that can fly into outer space and see the stars for myself other than leaving my house and looking up! This app was also created for the iPhone, but would definitely recommend ( if you have an iPad ) to get the iPad version. If you just have an iPhone then get that version too!

From the makers of “World Card Mobile“, Penpower Technology Ltd. brings you “World Card Contacts”. This app is specifically designed for keeping your life with work/business organized and very very user friendly. Once you launch the app you may notice a few familiar features. The app has the same layout as the phone app. You’re able to make calls, view your recent calls, make favorites just like the phone app, but there are a few new GREAT features!

Once you tap the contacts button within the app, you’re opened to a new look of just your regular contacts feature. You now have the opportunity to add a business card directly to a contact you have just added, or to your previous contacts. Not only that, you’re able to call their number, find it’s GPS location, connect to their web site, e mail, and text straight from the picture of the card. I think that Penpower Technology Ltd. is the best business card reader/organizer company out there. And if you have a business, this app is the right choice for you!

Although this app is amazing, I have to say that combining the tech of World Card Contacts with the tech World Card Mobile, would be a great option. I am no master at coding, or even know if it is possible to add both apps together, but maybe it could work? And if it does, then I think it will become even more convenient to the business owner as they will not need to have 2 different apps.
