Apple has rolled out an update to their MobileMe Gallery application adding native iPad support, higher-resolution Retina Display, and fast app switching for iOS 4 devices. Full details and changelog listed below:

Description:

Take your MobileMe gallery everywhere with a beautiful viewing experience on your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch. Just enter your MobileMe member name and password to see all of your published albums and movies. Easily browse your most recent photos or select a specific album with a tap. Flick back and forth through photos, pinch to zoom, or rotate to view in landscape view. MobileMe Gallery app automatically stores photos you’ve viewed, so you can view them again even if you don’t have a network connection.

To view a friend’s gallery, simply choose their name from your contacts or enter their MobileMe member name and you’ll get instant access to their publicly shared photos, too. If you don’t have a MobileMe subscription, you can still view friends’ galleries on an iPhone or iPad.

iPhone 3G Speed Test – iOS 4 Vs. 4.1 [Video]

Steve Jobs confirmed at Apple’s special media event held earlier this week that iPhone 3G iOS 4 performance issues have been fixed with iOS 4.1. Soon after the event, Apple released iOS 4.1 GM seed to developers, and Lifehacker posted a comparison video between iOS 4 and 4.1 on the iPhone 3G. Watch below to find out the results:

Messages: iOS 4.1 Wins (By a Little)
Maps: iOS 4.1 Wins (By a Lot)
Photos: iOS 4.1 Wins (Just Barely)
Safari: iOS 4.1 Wins (Just Barely)

While the speed advantages ranged from marginal to significant, iOS 4.1 clearly outperformed iOS 4.0. It’s still significantly slower performance than you’ll get from a 3GS or iPhone 4, and we’re still not sure it’s a big enough improvement that 3G owners will want to ditch iOS 3. The most obvious difference was UI responsiveness. The UI didn’t get stuck nearly as much on an interface element or when trying to enter text. If you are set on using iOS 4, the upgrade is worthwhile for that alone.

At first I was very intrigued by this game. I thought this was going to be a “tetris/dont let the blocks fall type”, but as I further discovered, yup…I was wrong. I’ll be honest here, I felt kinda weird playing this game cause it’s not like a game at all. It’s a combination of a “magic 8 ball”/”choose your own adventure” /”fortune telling”. Let me explain.

The UI is really great and the concept is very interesting, but the concept of it brings you to a place in the “game” that tells you who you are/what your are like and what your future is going to fore-tell. For me, I am not a fan of this, but for others, they might like it. Obviously to many, this is just an app that you can fool around with…sort of like a “horoscope” you read in a news paper( another thing this app reminds me of ) The app asks you to close your eyes and think of landscape, an image, and where that image is. Then at the end, it tells you what the image/where the image, means or equals to your life. You can also get a few people to join you on this app “journey” and see what their answers are.

Again I have to say that this app is still kinda weird. Every choice has an answer that describes who you are and what your life is going to become if you choose to continue such a path, so it’s kinda rigged. But again, if you like that sorta thing, then you can grab this app in the App Store for $0.99.

Again I have to say that this apps UI is great and very user friendly and if you like the “choose your own adventure” type apps, then SWEET! I am not to sure how many other apps in the app store are like this one!

Domo Oregato Mr.Roboto! A little while ago we did a review on iStart Spanish and got to experience how awesome that app was. Now we get to review iStart Japanese from the dev’s at Mirai LLP. Just like the awesome app that iStart Spanish was, iStart Japanese will bring you to the core introduction of learning Japanese. The video description talks about this app being a great beginner’s introduction to Japanese, but in my opinion this app brings you more than just an introduction.

With great features such as:

- full audio tutoring – how to write Japanese script – vocabulary training – 30 full lessons – No in-app purchases! – the speech bubbles automatically move in sync with the audio – toggle between viewing the Japanese text in romanized form or Japanese script – and a language quiz when your all done!

That was a mouth full! But again, with all these great features provided, this app will surely bring you through what you need to know about Japanese. Bring on ordering Sushi in Japanese in your local Sushi spot! Whooo!

I love this App as much as I love iStart Spanish! I also have nothing bad to say about this app at all! I am still patiently awaiting the iStart Hindi or iStart Punjabi! Not saying they are going to make it, but here’s to hoping again!

iOS 4.1 Beta 3 Released to Developers

Apple has released another beta of iOS 4.1. We are not a beta 3. This release, as with all betas, is only meant for developers, so they can test their apps to ensure compatibility.

We have also heard rumors that Apple is working on making iOS 4 more friendly with the iPhone 3G, as it is real slow and laggy at the moment. One of the main new features will be Game Center and multi-player gaming, which is similar to XBOX Live.

As for you jailbreakers and unlockers, you should stay away from this, until it is known if current jailbreak methods work on this new release. We already know that there is a new baseband, as of the last beta, so if you want to unlock, please avoid this. There is no way to roll back this baseband. rorypiper
